Knitting: My Drop Dead Scarf

So I needed a mindless project.  The jersey that I am knitting takes thought.  It has cables and subtle complexities which means that the mind has to stay in gear.  So I decided on a straight garter stitch project - quick, simple, mindless and easy:

Ya, well, it is a bit bright.  I figure I must have decided to make up for the plainness of the knitting with - you guessed it - colour.  I have decided to call it my Drop Dead scarf.  You best look out on the days that I wear it.

It does serve to demonstrate that I have, most definitely, been twiddling my thumbs over the past few days.
